Hey

I am Adam. I work at Office Max two days a week. I have half a right big toe. I enjoy watching sports (Hockey and Baseball mostly). I went to the new Twins stadium this past summer. I spend some of my time helping out at my church with various activities. That's a little bit about me.

Nice to meet you

I'm Andy Frick. I'm excited to be done with school in May. I enjoy long walks on the beach, cuddling, books about love, and pwning noobs in Call of Duty Black Ops.

Introduction

Hi all, my name is Jason Kraft and hopefully this is my last semester and will graduate as soon as my internship is over. I enjoy school but can't wait to get out in the real world and start making some decent money to pay off all my loans. I enjoy snowboarding, mountain biking and outdoor activities but video games have their place as well. Right now I work at miracle computers so if anyone has any repair questions I can try and help.

Howdy

My name is Elia Hurst and this is hopefully my 2nd to last semester. I hope to be graduating next December. *crosses fingers* I work full time during the day and go to school here at night, so I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do, I enjoy snowboarding, movies, reading, and video games among other things.

Hello

Hello, my name is Eric Bohn, and this is my introduction...I'm what you would consider a senior at WSU-R, with an anticipated graduation date of exactly sometime December 2011. I enjoy not being cold, which is a difficult feat this time of the year. I dislike school, but enjoy learning, and I hope to someday take over the world. Good bye.

Introduction - Jon Melin

Hello Everyone!
My name is Jon Melin. I am a Winona University student enrolled in the Computer Science - Information Systems track. I am nearing the completion of my degree and it is a great feeling! In my free time I enjoy working with computers in any fashion whether it be coding, gaming, or just browsing the web. I also enjoy snowboarding, fishing (primarily ice fishing), snowmobiling, camping, and the outdoors in general.
I believe CS410 will be of huge benefit to all of us because these concepts and ideas are the building blocks to everything else CS. I wish everyone the best of luck this semester and I am excited to see what everyone puts together for projects at the end.
Thank you,
Jon Melin

First time for everything!

Hello classmates!

My name is Sean Wahlstrom and I had "a bit of trouble" figuring out how to add a post to the blog. After about two minutes of scouring the blog I found the link for 'new post' up at the top by my name. Hope that helps anyone else (if they are struggling to post). See you in class next week!

CS410 Garth

Hi,

My name is Garth Gonnering and I am cs major at WSU in Rochester. I am not much of a blogger, but I am liking this course so far.

Career Transition

I am Dequan Chen, majoring computer science/bioinformatics track in WSU-Rochester. I originally was a Ph.D. scientist in Mayo Clinic and other organizations. At the end of Spring 2010, I got severe acute diabetes which led me to have experienced the ER room, ICU and diabetes room in St. Marry Hospital. This triggered my current career transition from scientific research into computer science that I like - since 10 years ago when I took the MS degree of computer science courses in Louisiana (due to time stringency I didn’t finish the degree).

After discharged from the hospital, I felt that my health is no longer suitable for my previous career track in which my body has to be continuously exposed to harmful biological, chemical and physical factors in various laboratories. After I visited Dr. Lin in our department and consulted with some of my friends working in the IT areas of IBM and Mayo Clinic, I decided to change my career into the track related to computer science. Therefore I enrolled with WSU computer science BS degree program (an excellent program from my experience and my friends). I hope that the present course of CS410/software engineering will let me secure enough knowledge and techniques regarding professional software production process under the excellent teaching of Dr. Eberhard.

Myself in living color...

My name is Mike, or Michael, whatever you would like to call me (out of those two choices preferably). I've been married for what will soon be 5 years in July. As for schooling I am a Bioinformatics Major and should be done this semester with my degree. The members of my family are my wife, myself and the dog currently. If you were wondering why my screen name for the blog is Abaye, that is because the name is the Amharic word for Father. Yes, my family is adopting a son from Ethiopia. We will be traveling next week to meet him and he will be coming to live in our home permanently in March sometime I hope. I might post a picture sometime this semester of him, my son. We'll see. I am taking this class to complete a major requirement. So far it sounds okay because we will be doing some software developing which is always an interesting undertaking. That is all.
